|Pure maple syrup/Golden syrup||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Unsalted butter stick||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (1/2 Stick)|
|Half and half||5 1⁄2 Ounce (3/4 Cup Minus 1 Tablespoon)|
Generously butter 8-inch square pan and heavy 3-quart saucepan.
Combine all ingredients except vanilla in saucepan.
Place over medium heat and stir gently with wooden spoon until mixture is an even golden caramel color very thick and breaks with big bubbles, about 20 to 25 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Pour into greased pan.
Cool about 30 minutes, then chill.
When ready to serve, cut into squares.
Store in refrigerator
