Date Caramel Cream
|Milk||1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs)|
|Dates||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), sliced|
|Cornstarch||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Milk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), cold|
|Egg||1 , beaten lightly|
|Nuts||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), chopped|
In the top of a double boiler, scald milk, then add dates.
Mix cornstarch, cold milk, and salt.
Add to hot milk and cook over simmering water until thickened, stirring constantly.
Cover and continue to cook for 10 minutes.
Mix eggs and honey and add to hot mixture.
Cook 1 minute longer.
Remove from heat, add nuts and vanilla, and pour into individual serving dishes.
