Orange-Crunch Squares

Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), softened
  Grated orange rind 1 Tablespoon
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  All purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Chopped walnuts/Chopped pecans 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Grated orange rind 2 Tablespoon
  Orange juice 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Cream butter and 1 tablespoon orange rind until fluffy.
Add brown sugar, mixing well.
Add eggs, and beat until blended.
Combine flour and salt, stir into creamed mixture.
Stir in chopped walnuts or pecans.
Spoon mixture into a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
Bake at 350° for 27 minutes.
Combine remaining ingredients except powdered sugar, spoon over cooked mixture, spreading to edge of pan.
Broil until bubbly, cool.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
Cut into squares.
