Mandy's Candies

Ingredients
  Shortening/Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  White sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 2 , well beaten
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Soda 1 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Quick oats 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Rice crispies 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Shredded coconut 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Cream sugars with shortening until light and creamy.
Add the eggs, then the vanilla.
Add dry ingredients, mix well.
Add oats, rice crispies and coconut.
Mix with the fingers.
Drop from spoon on greased cookie sheets.
Bake for 7-8 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
Do not get them hard.
Husbands even like these cookies.
I received this recipe 20 years ago from a friend of my mother.
