Orange Candy Drops
|Butter||1 Stick, softened|
|Granulated sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Orange||1⁄2 Teaspoon, extract|
|Orange zest||2 Teaspoon, grated|
|Flour||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Powdered sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. In a medium bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and Fuffy. Beat in egg, vanilla, orange extract, and orange zest.
2. Add flour mixed with baking powder and salt and beat until blended. Divide one fourth of dough into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and place balls 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining dough.
3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges just begin to turn golden brown. Dip warm cookies into powdered sugar. Let cool completely on a rack.
