Caramel Nut Candy

Ingredients
  Sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Milk 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Caramels 14 Ounce (Unwrapped)
  Chopped nuts 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
Directions

Butter 9-inch square baking dish.
Set aside.
In 2-quart measure, combine sugar, milk and butter.
Microwave at High for 2 minutes.
Stir until butter melts.
Insert microwave candy thermometer.
Microwave at High for 3 to 4 1/2 minutes, or until thermometer registers 234°F (soft ball stage).
Syrup forms a soft ball which flattens when removed from cold water.
Remove thermometer.
Carefully add caramels.
Microwave at High for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 minutes, or until caramels melt and can be stirred smooth.
Stir in nuts.
Spread mixture evenly into prepared dish.
Chill until cool and set, about 3 hours.
Cut into small squares.
