Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Light brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Rum extract 2 Teaspoon
  Grated orange rind 2 Teaspoon
  Orange juice 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Dates 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Walnuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Molasses 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Peanut butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Bran 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Directions

Cream butter or margarine and sugar together.
Add eggs, rum flavoring and orange rind.
Soak dates in orange juice a few minutes, and add to butter mixture.
Add nuts, molasses and peanut butter.
Sift next 4 ingredients together, and add with bran.
Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375°F. 10 minutes.
Makes 6 dozen.
