|Lard||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Granulated sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Molasses||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Sour cream||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Eggs||2 , beaten|
|All purpose flour||4 1⁄2 Cup (72 tbs)|
|Baking soda||2 Teaspoon|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground ginger||1 Teaspoon|
Cream lard and sugar together well.
Add molasses and cream, then eggs.
Sift dry ingredients together, and stir in.
Dough will be soft.
Chill in refrigerator overnight.
Use .1/2 the dough at a time.
Roll out lightly, 1/4 inch thick, on floured cloth.
Cut rounds 2 1/2-3 inches in diameter. Place on greased cookie sheets, and bake at 350°F. 15¬20 minutes.
These cookies are good warm, spread with butter or eaten with cheese.
Makes 4 dozen.
