Quick Hush Puppies
|Cornmeal||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Garlic salt||1 Teaspoon|
|Minced onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Green onion with top||1|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vegetable oil||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
Combine first 5 ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Add remaining ingredients; stir well.
Let batter stand 5 minutes.
Carefully drop batter by level table-spoonfuls into deep hot oil (370Â°); cook only a few at a time, turning once.
Fry 3 to 5 minutes or until hush puppies are golden brown.
Drain well on paper towels.
