|White corn meal||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Flour||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Tablespoon|
|Onion||2 Tablespoon, chopped|
Sift corn meal, flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
Beat egg into milk and onion.
Stir into the corn meal mixture all at once.
Drop by spoonfuls into deep hot shortening.
Fry until golden brown.
Drain on absorbent paper.
Makes 12 hush puppies.
