Ingredients
  Butter 4 Ounce, softened (1 Stick)
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
  Flour 6 Tablespoon (1/4 Cup Plus 2 Tablespoons)
  Milk 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Sliced blanched almonds 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chopped candied orange peel 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Semi sweet chocolate squares/Bittersweet chocolate squares 4 Ounce, melted (4 Squares, 1 Ounce Each)
Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a medium bowl, beat butter, sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Beat in flour and milk until a soft dough forms. Fold in almonds and orange peel.
2. Drop by slightly rounded measuring teaspoonfuls 3 inches apart onto generously greased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly with floured back of a spoon to make 2-inch rounds.
3. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown around edges. Let cookies cool 1 minute on sheets, then remove to racks and let cool completely.
4. Turn cooled cookies upside down and spread a thin layer of melted chocolate over bottoms. Let cool until chocolate is firm. Store in a tightly covered container.
