Ingredients
  Medium oatmeal 12 Ounce (Plus Extra For Kneading)
  Oat bran 4 Ounce (125 Gram)
  Soda bicarbonate 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Boiling water 8 Fluid Ounce (250 Milliliter)
  Butter 2 Ounce, melted (50 Gram)
Directions

1. Combine the oatmeal, oat bran, bicarbonate of soda and salt in a bowl. Make a well in the centre and, using a wooden spoon, stir in the water and melted butter to form a slightly sticky dough.
2. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead gently until smooth. Roll out the dough until it is about 3 mm (1/8 inch) thick. Using a 7 cm (2 1/2 inch) pastry cutter, stamp out 24 rounds, re-rolling as necessary.
3. Transfer the biscuits to 2 large, lightly oiled baking sheets and bake in a preheated oven, 200°C (400°F), Gas Mark 6, for 18-20 minutes until lightly browned. Leave to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool.
