Prepare Sweet-Tart Kraut and keep it warm.
Cook carrots or other desired vegetable.
Heap kraut mixture in center of a large seasoned plank.*
Brush franks with melted butter or margarine and arrange, slit side down, at two opposite corners of plank.
Pile the carrots and mashed potatoes to side of kraut at opposite corners.
Drizzle melted butter or margarine over potatoes.
Set under broiler with top 6 to 8 inches from heat until franks are browned.
Turn franks and continue broiling until franks and potatoes are lightly browned.
