Johnny cake has a lovely taste. The sour milk and sour cream gives the Johnny cake a prefect taste.
Ingredients
  Sifted all purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Yellow cornmeal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Firmly packed light brown sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Egg 1 , well beaten
  Buttermilk/Sour milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Dairy sour cream 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Directions

Blend flour, cornmeal, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
Mix in brown sugar.
Add a mixture of egg, buttermilk, and sour cream all at one time to dry ingredients.
Beat with a rotary beater until just smooth.
Turn into a greased 11x7x1 1/2 inch baking pan; spread evenly.
Bake at 425°F about 20 minutes.
Break or cut johnnycake into squares.
