Basic Yellow Cake
|Butter/Margarine||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), softened|
|Sugar||1 2⁄3 Cup (26.67 tbs)|
|Sifted cake flour||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)|
Beat butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla in large bowl.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add alternately with milk to butter mixture; beat until smooth after addition.
Pour into 2 greased and floured 9 inch layer-cake pans.
Bake in preheated 350Â°F oven 30 minutes or until cake tests done.
Cool in pans on wire racks 10 minutes.
Turn out onto racks; cool completely.
Fill and frost as desired.
