Classic Coffee Cake

Ingredients
  Cake yeast 1 Tablespoon
  Lukewarm water 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Scalded milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs), sifted
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Shortening 4 Tablespoon
  Sugar To Taste (Use As Required)
  Cinnamon To Taste (Use As Required)
Directions

GETTING READY
1.Start by preheating the oven to 400F degrees

MAKING
2.In a bowl, pour water and place the yeast, let it soften
3.Add yeast and half the flour in a bowl containing cool milk
4.Keep beating properly, and let it rise until very light
5.Now add egg, sugar, salt and melted shortening, mix thoroughly and properly, also add remaining flour.
6.Let the mixture rise until it had doubled in bulk
7.In a shallow greased pans, pour the mixture
8.Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, make sure to sprinkle thickly
9.Finally bake in the hot oven for 20 minutes
10.Once baked completely, remove and place on a wire rack to cool it

SERVING
11.Serve with ice cream
