Biscuits For Fruit Shortcake
|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Granulated sugar||25 Milliliter (2 Tablespoon)|
|Baking powder||15 Milliliter (1 Tablespoon)|
|Baking soda||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cold butter||45 Milliliter (3 Tablespoon)|
|Egg||1 , beaten|
|Sour cream||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Light cream||25 Milliliter (2 Tablespoon)|
In large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.
With pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
Blend together egg and sour cream; pour over dry ingredients.
Using fork, blend together briefly.
Form into ball and roll out on floured surface to about 3/4 inch (2 cm) thickness; cut out about ten 2-1/2 inch (6 cm) biscuits.
Place rounds on lightly floured baking sheet; brush with light cream and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake in 450Â°F (230Â°C) oven for 15 minutes or until well risen and browned.
