  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Granulated sugar 25 Milliliter (2 Tablespoon)
  Baking powder 15 Milliliter (1 Tablespoon)
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cold butter 45 Milliliter (3 Tablespoon)
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Sour cream 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Light cream 25 Milliliter (2 Tablespoon)

In large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.
With pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
Blend together egg and sour cream; pour over dry ingredients.
Using fork, blend together briefly.
Form into ball and roll out on floured surface to about 3/4 inch (2 cm) thickness; cut out about ten 2-1/2 inch (6 cm) biscuits.
Place rounds on lightly floured baking sheet; brush with light cream and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake in 450°F (230°C) oven for 15 minutes or until well risen and browned.
