White Layer Cake
|Cake flour||2 Cup (32 tbs), sifted|
|Sugar||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Tablespoon|
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Emulsifier Type)|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
1.Start by preheating the oven to 350F degrees
2.In a bowl, sift dry ingredients together
3.Then add shortening, milk and vanilla; beat 300 strokes with a spoon, or 2 minutes with electric mixer at medium speed, until well blended; add egg whites and beat 2 minutes more.
4.Pour into 2 greased and lined 8 inch round layer pans.
5.Bake in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes
6.Serve with ice cream, if desired
