Maple Syrup Cake

The maple syrup cake is a sweet and delicious cake prepared with flour, milk and maple syrup. Baked with shortening and eggs, the maple syrup cake has a beautiful flavor and taste to it and is a simple and unique dessert.
Ingredients
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Shortening 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Maple syrup 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt To Taste
  Flour 2 1⁄4 Cup (36 tbs)
  Baking powder 3 Tablespoon
  Egg whites 3
Directions

GETTING READY
1.Start by preheating the oven to 350F degrees
MAKING
2.In a bowl, cream shortening, gradually add half the sugar; cream until fluffy; beat in the syrup.
3.Stir in sifted dry ingredients (except sugar) alternately with milk.
4.Beat whites until soft peaks form; gradually add rest of sugar and beat until peaks round over gently; fold into batter.
5.Bake in 13x9 1/2 x 2 inch pan for 45 to 60 minutes
SERVING
6.When cool, frost with Maple Sugar Frosting
