Nut Cake

This nut cake is a vanilla flavored cake made with chopped nut meats. Prepared with cake flour and eggs, along with milk and sugar, the nut cake comes out moist and delicious from the oven. I love to serve it with some whipped cream on top of the slices.
Ingredients
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 2 , separated
  Cake flour 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), sifted
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Nut meats 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
Directions

GETTING READY
1.Start by preheating the oven to 350F degrees
MAKING
2.In a bowl, cream shortening, add half the sugar gradually; cream until fluffy; beat in yolks 1 at a time
3.Sift flour and baking powder; stir in alternately with liquid.
4.Beat whites until soft peaks form; gradually beat in rest of sugar; fold into batter with nuts.
5.Pour into 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pan, greased and lined.
6.Bake in the oven for 50 minutes.
SERVING
7.Serve with cream
