Duchess Spice Cake

Ingredients
  Sifted flour 1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cloves 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (One Stick)
  Brown sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), firmly packed
  Eggs 2 , well beaten
  Sour cream 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Seeded raisins 1 Cup (16 tbs), simmered, drained and cooled
  Broken nut meats 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly grease a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan.
Sift together the flour, salt, soda and spices; set aside.
Cream the butter, adding the sugar gradually; blend well.
Add the eggs.
Stir in the sifted dry ingredients alternately with the sour cream.
Add the raisins and nuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake forty five to fifty minutes.
