Christmas Fruity Cake

Ingredients
  Almonds 1⁄2 Pound, blanched and sliced
  Currants 1 1⁄4 Pound
  Raisins 1 1⁄2 Pound
  Peel 1⁄2 Pound, mixed cut peel
  All purpose flour 3 Cup (48 tbs), sifted
  Nutmeg 1 Teaspoon
  Cloves 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Soda 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Eggs 6
  Orange juice 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Combine almonds and fruits.
Sift flour with spices, soda and baking powder.
Combine 1/2 cup dry ingredients with fruits and nuts.
Cream butter, add sugar then eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.
Blend in dry ingredients and orange juice.
Fold in fruits and nuts.
Turn into 8x8x4 inch cake pan lined with greased brown paper (2 layers).
Bake at 275F for 3 1/2-4 hours.
