Chocolate Applesauce Cake
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking soda||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Baking cocoa||3 Tablespoon|
|Canned applesauce||16 Ounce|
|Sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Semi sweet chocolate chips||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Chopped walnuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cream the shortening and the 1 cup sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs, flour, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, baking cocoa and applesauce and mix well.
Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch cake pan.
Sprinkle with a mixture of the 1/4 cup sugar, chocolate chips and walnuts.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
