Honey-Almond Cakes

Honey almond cakes are dough cakes kneaded with added almonds. Prepared with a batter of flour, eggs, sugar and honey, the honey almond cakes are baked in the oven and served fresh with sprinkled cinnamon sugar. These cakes are roll like and pinwheel shaped when baked and very unque to serve against the common cakes.
  All purpose flour 2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)
  Baking powder 2 Tablespoon
  Baking soda 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar/Lard 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Buckwheat honey/Other strong honey 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chopped almonds 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Cream together butter, sugar, egg, and honey.
Combine with flour mixture and mix well.
Add almonds, knead 1 minute, and form into two 7inch long rolls.
Wrap each roll in waxed paper and chill 2 hours.
Remove dough from waxed paper, cut into 1/4 inch thick slices, and place on greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350°F 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
If desired, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
