Brown Sugar Fudge Cake
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Unsweetened chocolate square||2 , melted|
|Cake flour||2 1⁄4 Cup (36 tbs), sifted|
|Baking soda||1 Teaspoon|
|Buttermilk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Chocolate frosting||1 Cup (16 tbs) (Creamy)|
|Semi-sweet chocolate||2 Tablespoon, grated|
Cream shortening, gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed of an electric mixer.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add chocolate, beat well.
Combine flour, soda, and salt, add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Mix just until blended after each addition.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour batter into 3 greased and floured 8-inch round cakepans.
Bake at 350Â° for 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pans 10 minutes, remove from pans, and let cool completely on wire racks.
Spread Creamy Chocolate Frosting between layers and on top and sides of cake.
