Golden Apple-Oatmeal Cake
|Regular oats||1 Cup (16 tbs), uncooked|
|All purpose flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking soda||3⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Ground allspice||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vegetable oil||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Peeled and diced apples||1 Cup (16 tbs), diced (Cooking Apples)|
|Chopped walnuts||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl, set aside.
Combine sugar, oil, egg, and vanilla, add to dry mixture, stirring well.
Stir in apples and walnuts.
Spread batter in a greased and floured 8-inch square baking pan.
Bake at 350Â° for 45 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Serve warm or cool with ice cream, if desired.
