Choco-Cherry Cake

Choco-cherry cake is a cherry filled chocolate cake and one of my eternal favorites. Choco-cherry cake brings together the fresh and juicy cherries with rich chocolate in a baked delight. Filled with california walnuts, the choco-chery cake is all alltime dessert cake.
Ingredients
  Shortening/Butter / margarine 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Unsweetened chocolate squares 2 Ounce, melted
  Sifted cake flour 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Soda 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Chopped maraschino cherries 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Maraschino cherry syrup 2 Tablespoon
  Chopped california walnuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Stir shortening to soften.
Gradually add sugar, creaming till light and fluffy.
Add egg, beat well; stir in chocolate.
Sift together dry ingredients; then add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, be ginning and ending with flour mixture; beat after each addition.
Add cherries, syrup, and nuts.
Grease bottom of 8x8x2 inch baking dish; pour in batter.
Bake in slow oven (325°) 50 to 55 minutes, or till cake tests done.
Cool.
Frost in pan, if desired, with No cook Fudge Frosting .or use square metal pan and bake in moderate oven (350°) about 40 minutes.
