Yellow Cake (Torta Giallo)
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Orange||1 , rind grated|
|Lemon||1⁄2 , rind grated|
|Butter/Margarine||62 1⁄2 Gram, melted (0.25 Cup)|
|Sifted cake flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Confectioner's sugar||1 Tablespoon|
In the top of a double boiler mix together egg yolks, sugar and grated rinds.
Place over hot water and beat mixture constantly until it is warm.
Remove from heat.
Add butter or margarine and sifted flour and beat thoroughly.
Pour into two 9 inch (23 cm) cake pans which have been well buttered and floured.
Bake in a 350Â°F (180Â°C) oven for about 1/2 hour.
When cooked, remove immediately from the pans.
Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar
