Ingredients
  Sugar 2 2⁄3 Cup (42.67 tbs)
  Shortening 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Mashed avocado 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Eggs 4
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1 Teaspoon
  Allspice 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Soda 2 Teaspoon
  Sour milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Dates 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Flour 3 1⁄2 Cup (56 tbs)
Directions

Cream sugar, shortening, avocado.
Beat in eggs.
Mix together dry ingredients.
Add dry mix and sour milk alternately.
Add dates, stir well.
Bake for 30 minutes in preheated oven at 300 degrees.

Are the dates in this recipe to be added chopped or soaked and pureed? Information isn't thorough enough. Thanks

When it said 1 tsp of soda is it baking soda or a drinking soda? and no baking powder?
