Fruit Fantasia (A Three Layer Cake)
|Sifted flour||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs) (Softasilk Brand)|
|Sugar||5⁄6 Cup (13.33 tbs)|
|Baking powder||5⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Imperial margarine||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Buttermilk||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Mashed ripe bananas||5⁄8 Cup (10 tbs)|
|Chopped nuts||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
Be ready to spend time on this one Individual layers may be made in any succession.
Egg whisks work better than spoon.
BANANA NUT LAYER:
Grease and flour a 9" layer pan.
Sift all dry ingredients together.
Add margarine, mashed bananas and first 1/6 cup of buttermilk.
Beat 2 minutes or stir by hand, if preferred.
Fold in nuts.
Pour batter into pan.
