Fruit Fantasia (A Three Layer Cake)

Ingredients
  Sifted flour 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs) (Softasilk Brand)
  Sugar 5⁄6 Cup (13.33 tbs)
  Baking powder 5⁄8 Teaspoon
  Soda 5⁄8 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Imperial margarine 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Buttermilk 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Mashed ripe bananas 5⁄8 Cup (10 tbs)
  Eggs 1
  Chopped nuts 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Directions

Be ready to spend time on this one Individual layers may be made in any succession.
Egg whisks work better than spoon.
BANANA NUT LAYER:
Grease and flour a 9" layer pan.
Sift all dry ingredients together.
Add margarine, mashed bananas and first 1/6 cup of buttermilk.
Beat 2 minutes or stir by hand, if preferred.
Fold in nuts.
Pour batter into pan.
