Chocolate Marble Loaf Cake

Ingredients
  Shortening 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Cake flour 2 Cup (32 tbs), sifted
  Baking powder 2 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Milk 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
  Egg whites 3 , beaten
  Unsweetened chocolate square 1 Ounce, melted
  Hot water 2 Tablespoon
  Soda 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Red food coloring 1⁄8 Teaspoon
Directions

Stir shortening to soften.
Gradually add sugar, creaming till light and fluffy.
Add vanilla.
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Beat after each addition.
Fold in egg whites.
Combine chocolate, water, soda, and food coloring; add to 1/2 the batter, stirring just to blend.(Leave other part plain.)
Spoon light and dark batters alternately into paper lined 91/2 x5x3 inch loaf pan.
Zigzag spatula through batter.
Bake in moderate oven (350°) about 45 minutes.
