Double Chocolate Cake
|Unsweetened chocolate||2 Ounce|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sifted all purpose flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Buttermilk/Sour milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Creamy chocolate icing||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Crease a 9-inch square cake pan.
Combine shortening and chocolate in a small saucepan and set over lowest heat to melt.
Combine sugar, egg and chocolate mixture in mixing bowl and beat well.
Sift flour, soda and salt together and add to sugar mixture alternately with mixture of buttermilk or sour milk and vanilla.
Pour into prepared pan and bake about 35 minutes or until top springs back when touched lightly in centre.
Cool in pan.
Ice with Creamy Chocolate Icing.
