Chocolate Rocky Road Cake

Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salad oil 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Baking chocolate square 1
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Egg 1
  Buttermilk 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Vanilla 3⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

In a small saucepan over low heat, combine butter, oil, and chocolate. Stir until solids are melted. Add water, and stir until smooth and thick. Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes. Sift flour, sugar, and salt together into a large mixing bowl. Add chocolate mixture. Add egg and beat until smooth; stir in buttermilk-soda mixture and vanilla. Pour batter into well-greased baking pan and bake 30 to 55 minutes, or until cake tests done. Remove from oven and cool in pan set on a cake rack. Frost with Rocky Road Frosting *For altitudes to 3500 feet, use 1 cup sugar. For altitudes over 5000 feet.
