Apple Orange Cake Squares

Ingredients
  Butter 6 Tablespoon, melted (1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons)
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Applesauce 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Orange rind 1 Teaspoon, grated
  Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
  All purpose flour 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pecans 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
  Powdered sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), sifted
  Orange juice 1 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Vanilla extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large mixing bowl, stirring well.
Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and soda; add to applesauce mixture, mixing well.
Stir in pecans.
Spoon the batter into a greased 12- x 8- x 2-inch baking dish.
Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
Combine powdered sugar, orange juice, and vanilla.
Spread over cake.
Cut into 2 1/2- x 3-inch squares.
