Orange Slice Cake

Ingredients
  Candy orange slices 1 Pound
  Chopped dates 8 Ounce
  Chopped nuts 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sifted flour 3 1⁄2 Cup (56 tbs)
  Margarine 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Eggs 4
  Buttermilk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Soda 1 Teaspoon
  Shredded coconut 1 Can (10 oz)
  Confectioner' s sugar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Orange juice 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Cut candy slices into small pieces! Coat dates, candy and nuts in 1/2 cup flour; set aside.
Cream margarine with sugar; add eggs, one at a time, blending well after each addition.
Add buttermilk.
Sift remaining flour with soda; add to buttermilk mixture.
Fold in candy mixture, stirring well; add coconut.
Place in greased and floured 9-inch tube pan.
Bake for 3 hours at 250 degrees.
Leave cake in pan.
Mix sugar and juice well; pour over hot cake.
Leave cake in tube pan until cooled thoroughly.
