Dark Chocolate And Poached Pear Cake

A decadent cake of poached pears smothered in a dark chocolate. Something different to bring out after your dinner from GialloZafferano

Directions

MAKING
1) Wash and peel the pears
2) Quarter and remove the core
3) In a pot, pour in the wine and place the pears
4) Simmer over a medium heat until the wine is cooked off
5) Chop the chocolate melt over a bain marie or in an oven safe proof bowl
6) Once melted add in the butter
7) Beat the egg, add sugar and add to the warm chocolate mixture
8) Then add in the amaretto biscuits which is to be crushed
9) Sift and add the flour and baking powder
10) Whip the egg whites till stiff peaks are formed
11) Fold it in to the cake batter
12) Pour half the cake batter into a prepared cake pan
13) Lay the cooked pears and cover them with remaining half of the batter
14) Bake for 40 minutes at 350 F

SERVING
15) Cut in wedges and dust with powdered sugar and serve
