Lemon Pound Cake
|Butter||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Lemon extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Sifted flour||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Lemon flavored carbonated drink||7 Ounce|
|Confectioners sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
"Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Combine butter and shortening in large bowl; beat until creamy.
Add sugar gradually, beating constantly until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in salt and flavorings.
Add flour alternately with lemon-flavored drink; mix well.
Pour into greased tube pan.
Bake for about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes before removing from pan.
Cut around side and tube carefully with thin spatula; invert onto cake rack.
Cool completely; sprinkle top with confectioners' sugar.
