Simple Birthday Cake
|Icing sugar||8 Ounce, sieved|
|Plain chocolate||2 Ounce|
|Pink food color||3 Drop|
1 In a bowl, beat butter and half sugar until soft and creamy.
2 In another bowl, break up chocolate and melt over some hot water.
3 Combine the melted chocolate with the butter cream and mix very well.
4 Prepare a forcing bag with plain nozzle.
5 Sandwich the cakes together with cream, reserving a good spoonful for decorating.
6 In a basin, put the rest of sugar, and add 1 1/2 tbsps. water, mix well until smooth.
7 Add 1-2 drops of pink colouring.
8 The glace icing should coat back of spoon; if too thick, dilute with a little water-€”if too thin, add some sugar.
9 Pour the icing on to the cake and allow it to cover the top.
10 Smooth and round the edge with palette knife.
11 Allow to set.
12 When the surface is set, press the remaining icing down well in the forcing bag.
13 Write the birthday messge on the cake.
14 Put on the frill round cake and arrange the candles in the holders.
15 Add more piped decoration if desired.
16 Cut and serve.
