Applesauce Fruit Cake

Ingredients
  Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Unsweetened applesauce 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Soda 1 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Cloves 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
  Fruit 1 Cup (16 tbs), candied
  Raisins 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Cream butter; add sugar and applesauce gradually.
Sift flour with soda and spices; add to creamed mix- ture.
Stir in nuts, candied fruit and raisins.
Pour into 2 greased and floured cake pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes; cool.
Wrap cakes in brandy-soaked" cheesecloth; cover with foil.
