Ingredients
  Butter/May be part margarine 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Brown sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), sifted
  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 2 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1 Teaspoon
  Buttermilk/Thick applesauce - 1 cup strained 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Walnuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
  Seedless raisins 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), chopped

Directions

GETTING READY
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees .

MAKING
2) In a bowl, cream butter.
3) Gradually add sugar, and then beaten eggs to combine with butter.
4) In a bowl, sift together dry ingredients.
5) Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk or applesauce, to the beaten egg mixture.
6) Dredge the raisins and nuts in little quantity of flour and fold into the mixture.
7) Use a 9" x 12" pan to line with waxed paper.
8) Pour the batter and place inside oven to bake for 45 minutes.

SERVING
9) Ice the cake with your choice of icing like caramel icing and serve.
