Ingredients
  Shortening 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Sugar 2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)
  Eggs 3
  Vanilla 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Apples 3 1⁄2 Cup (56 tbs), sliced
  Nutmeats 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Flour 2 1⁄4 Cup (36 tbs)
Directions

Cream together shortening, sugar, egg & vanilla.
Add salt, cinnamon nutmeg, baking soda & flour, mix well.
Stir in sliced apples & nutmeats.
Bake in greased & floured jelly roll pan, at 350 degrees foi 30-45 minutes.
Frost with powdered sugar glaze.
