Chocolate Nut Cake
|Soft butter/Shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Unsweetened chocolate squares||2 Ounce, melted|
|Sifted cake flour||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Baking soda||3⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Buttermilk||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Chopped pecans/Walnuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Chocolate frosting||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Easy One)|
|Pecan halves/Walnut halves||10|
Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg and beat until light.
Blend in cooled chocolate.
Sift dry ingredients; add alternately with buttermilk.
Add vanilla and nuts.
Pour into greased 8-inch tube pan 3 inches deep.
Bake in preheated moderate oven (350°F.) about 1 hour.
Cool, frost with Easy Chocolate Frosting, and arrange nut halves around edge.
