|Sifted flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Light cream||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Light rum||To Taste|
Beat egg yolks and 1 cup sugar with rotary beater until light; add boiling water.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together; add to egg yolk mixture.
Beat until smooth.
Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into batter.
Turn into greased and floured 8-inch square pan.
Bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
Combine butter, cream and remaining sugar in saucepan.
Bring to a boil over low heat, stirring until smooth.
Remove from heat; add rum.
Cut cake into 8 squares; serve hot sauce over cake."
