Ingredients
  Plain flour 8 Ounce
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon (Leveled)
  Ground ginger 2 Teaspoon (Leveled)
  Margarine 2 Ounce
  Lard 2 Ounce
  Medium oatmeal 8 Ounce
  Caster sugar 4 Ounce
  Golden syrup 6 Ounce
  Black treacle 6 Ounce
  Milk 4 Tablespoon
Directions

GETTING READY
1. With greaseproof paper, line a tin with measurements of 10"X8"X1.5"

MAKING
2. In a basin, sift flour, baking powder and ginger, rub in the lard along with oatmeal and sugar
3. In a saucepan, heat treacle aand syrup, and add it to the rubbed in flour-oatmeal mixture by making a well in the centre to give it a smooth consistency
4. Pour it into the prepared tin and bake in th eoven for an hour or so at 350°F; see to it that there is a small gap between the sides of the tin and the mixture and that it attains a spongy consistency
5. Take it out and cool it on a wire rack

SERVING
6. Serve as required
