One Bowl Chocolate Cake
|Soft shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sifted all purpose flour||1 2⁄3 Cup (26.67 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Baking soda||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Unsweetened chocolate squares||2 Ounce, melted (2 Squares)|
|Red food coloring||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Sift dry ingredients into shortening.
Add milk and vanilla; beat for 2 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients and beat for 1 minute.
Pour into 9-inch square pan lined on bottom with greased wax paper.
Bake in preheated moderate oven (350°F.) for 1 hour.
Cool for 5 minutes.
Turn out on rack and peel off paper.
Cool, and frost as desired.
