Red Devil Cake

Ingredients
  Sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Whole eggs 2
  Buttermilk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vanilla 1 Tablespoon
  Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Red food coloring 1⁄2 Ounce
  Cocoa 1 Tablespoon
  Vinegar 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs one at a time.
Beat well after each addition.
Sift flour, salt and cocoa three times.
Add dry mixture alternately to creamed mixture with buttermilk.
Add vanilla and red coloring.
Mix vinegar and baking soda together in small bowl (it will fizz).
Fold the vinegar mixture into batter.
Bake in two 9" layer pans at 350 degrees until done — about 1/2 hour.
