Yellow Angel Food Cake For Kids

Ingredients
  Sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Eggs 8 (9, If Small)
  Cream of tartar 1 Tablespoon
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cake flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄4 Tablespoon
  Vanilla 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Sift flour 6 times, once before measuring.
Beat egg yolks until VERY thick.
Make syrup with sugar and water.
Cook until short thread - about 10 minutes after it boils.
Add syrup to egg yolks, beating all the time.
Beat until cool; add flour, vanilla to above mixture.
Beat egg whites until they hold a peak.
Add salt to egg whites when you start beating, add cream of tartar when foamy.
Fold egg whites into other mixture.
Preheat oven to 250°.
When cake is put in oven, turn to 340° and bake 1 hour.
