|Caster sugar||3 Ounce (90 gram)|
|Currants/Mixed dried fruit||3 Ounce (90 gram)|
|Egg||1 , beaten with a pinch of salt|
|Milk||2 Tablespoon (adjust quantity as needed for mixing)|
Sift the flour into a large bowl and rub in the fat until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
Add the sugar and fruit; then stir in the beaten egg and just a little milk in order to give a very stiff dough.
Put rocky heaps of the mixture on to a greased baking-sheet and bake at 200°C/400°F/ Gas Mark 6 for about 15 minutes.
