Ingredients
  Self raising flour 8 Ounce (250 gram)
  Butter 4 Ounce (125 gram)
  Caster sugar 3 Ounce (90 gram)
  Currants/Mixed dried fruit 3 Ounce (90 gram)
  Egg 1 , beaten with a pinch of salt
  Salt 1 Pinch
  Milk 2 Tablespoon (adjust quantity as needed for mixing)
Directions

Sift the flour into a large bowl and rub in the fat until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
Add the sugar and fruit; then stir in the beaten egg and just a little milk in order to give a very stiff dough.
Put rocky heaps of the mixture on to a greased baking-sheet and bake at 200°C/400°F/ Gas Mark 6 for about 15 minutes.
