Mom'S Orange Cake
|Flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Sodium bicarbonate||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Fresh orange juice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Orange peel||1 Tablespoon, cut into thin small strips|
|Orange||1 , peeled and cut into segments|
|Yellow food color||1 Pinch|
Sieve flour, baking powder and baking soda together.
Beat eggs, butter and sugar till creamy.
Add yellow colour.
Mix orange peel and orange segments to flour mixture.
Add flour mixture to egg mixture and beat for 5-7 minutes.
Add orange juice and beat for another 5-7 minutes.
Grease a baking dish.
Pour the batter into it.
Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C for 40-45 minutes.
Insert a knife in the centre.
If comes out clean, cake is ready.
Cool for 5-7 minutes.
Remove from tin and cool completely.
