Apple Coffee Cake
|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Shortening||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), softened|
|Milk||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Apples||2 Cup (32 tbs), thinly sliced|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Butter||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), melted|
|Slivered almonds||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Sift dry ingredients; cut in shortening.
Add egg and milk.
Pour into greased 8-inch square pan.
Lay apple slices evenly on top.
Sprinkle with brown sugar and spices.
Drizzle melted butter evenly over apples.
Top with almonds.
Bake in preheated hot oven (400°F.) for 25 minutes.
